Short analyses are scientific assessments, policy briefs, and evidence-based recommendations from the Austrian Productivity Board or the Office of the Austrian Productivity Board on current economic policy issues, targeted at decision-makers in politics and economy as well as journalists and the interested public.
Design of a simple monitoring system for the implementation of economic policy measures of the Austrian Industrial Strategy (German version)
The monitoring of Austria’s Industrial Strategy 2035 by the Austrian Productivity Board is based on a two-pillar approach: a KPI-based competitiveness radar and an annual survey of government ministries on the implementation of policy measures. This policy brief describes the concept, structure, and implementation procedures of the policy measure monitoring system as a key instrument for the results-oriented governance of the Industrial Strategy.
The survey is conducted annually through an online questionnaire using LimeSurvey and covers governance characteristics, intervention logic, financing, implementation progress, and evaluation results. Its purpose is to provide transparency on the state of implementation, offer early warning of emerging challenges, and support adaptive, impact-oriented governance by the Industry Task Force.
